Preamble

Recognizing the shared intellectual heritage and the growing need for regional cooperation among sociologists in East Asia, the East Asian Sociologists Network (EASN) was established in 2002 as a voluntary and friendly forum for academic exchange. Building upon the achievements and spirit of the EASN, the East Asian Sociological Association (EASA) is hereby constituted as a scholarly association dedicated to advancing sociological knowledge and fostering academic collaboration across the region and beyond.

Article 1: Purpose

The EASA shall promote scholarly research, education, and dialogue in the field of sociology, and shall serve as a platform for academic exchange among sociologists in East Asia and other regions of the world.

Article 2: Principles

The EASA shall conduct its activities with respect for intellectual diversity, mutual understanding, and a spirit of friendship, irrespective of political or ideological differences among its members.

Article 3: Mission

The EASA shall endeavor to strengthen regional and international networks of sociologists, encourage collaborative research initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of sociological knowledge for the benefit of society.
